D. Simmons is finished with Outlander (Outlander, #1)
Gabaldon offers us a textured world amid this intense and lovely romance. If you come to this novel after watching the series on Starz, as I did, then it won't hold many surprises. Still, I'd say this was a worthwhile read. Claire is vivacious, Jamie galant, and the intensity between the two so believable, I dare anyone not to fall in love with this couple.

I've already seen season one on Starz but that doesn't take anything away from this. There are small differences but I'm so taken by Galbaldon's use of the english language, reading the book is an exquisite experience that I look forward to every night.

Gotta say I'm disappointed. I'm gonna finish but I've skipped most of the middle of this book. Guess I'm waiting to see how Swagger is gone finish this guy off but I've got a feeling it's gonna be a letdown.

"He hadn’t smoked in ten years, but when somebody offers you a lethal weapon, you take it." God, I love me some Jack Reacher.

So far... I'm learning all the stuff I was supposed to learn in history class but just to sum it up: Russians=bad. Polish=undervalued. Nazi=very bad.

LOVE this Marie! The best female supporting character I've read. Beauty and brains, a force in her own right!

Hunter is amazing. This is a sequel that's just as good, if not better than the first.

Once I read passed the many occurrences of "nigger" in the first few chapters (which felt a bit like walking through a minefield) I fell in love. The story moves between the past and the present, following Earl Lee Swagger and his son, Bob Lee Swagger, both of whom are remarkable men, easy to love.

I'm reminded of why I adore reading and why I'm head over heels in love with Toni Morrison. She has a way with words that goes beyond description - it's like she's using a paintbrush to create a whole other life for you that was always there, you just didn't know it.
