It was nice of Kyle to offer the extra room in his apartment to Simon but something feels off. There’s probably more to Kyle than meets the eye. Also, I suspect that Camille had something to do with Simon’s mom going through his room and finding his blood stash. That would put him in a more likely position to join her

Jace really can’t catch a frickin break in any book. He’s having horrible, vivid nightmares about hurting Clary. I wonder if it’s a type of curse, if it has psychological origins, or if it’s Sebastian (aka Johnathan)

That’s so sad for Simon. His mom did not react well to telling her he’s a vampire. Hopefully she will accept him for who he is and has always been, not what he is

I never would’ve thought that Simon would be dating 2 women at the same time. Funny that Isabelle just now called him her bf. I’m sure Simon will have to choose soon. Also, what does Raphael want with Simon now? I thought he was free to live his life.
Lastly, this book starts in mid October. Clary’s birthday is in late August so maybe a few weeks have gone by since the 3rd book ended (mid to late September)

Valentine summoned Raziel and was shocked to find out his vision for the world was not one that the Angel cared for. For punishment for torturing the previous Angel, Raziel killed Valentine. Raziel asked Clary what her wish was; she asked for Jace. He had died by Valentine’s hand just before Jace was going to kill him. Jace is alive and was touched that out of anything in the world, she chose him

I’m a little surprised at how affectionate Valentine is with Jonathan. His heightened senses are really strong too. Crazy that he was the one who told Jace that the two are brothers, of sorts. Jace still thinks he’s related to Clary tho.

Off topic but Luke and Jocelyn did NOT give over Simon, but I suspect he may give himself over

Oh. My. Gosh… Jocelyn confirmed that Jace is NOT Clary’s brother! Jace is actually the son of Stephen & Céline Herondale! Meaning that the older inquisitor really was Jace’s grandma!! She had figured it out moments before she died saving him. Valentine cut Jace out of his dead mother, killed the real Michael Wayland & his son so he & Jace could assume their identities. I’m sure the real Johnathan hated Jace

YA my ass. Ik they aren’t siblings so I can enjoy this scene for what it is. Jace and Clary almost having sex was everythingggg. The way he trailed kisses and took his shirt off (I’m picturing Jaime ofc). But Clary was right to stop him. He was doing it partially because he thought himself a monster and “did what monsters do”
