FUCK IT I’m gonna give it a go, I’ve thought about this book a few times every week from the moment I finished At the Existentialist Café back in February and I’ve got the whole summer to chip away at it. If I eventually DNF it, it’ll make the second attempt a little easier!!!1!1!1!11!!

having to do this to keep me accountable. 500+ pages in and it’s FINALLY picking up; i do like the prose but so far very little has actually happened which has made me more inclined to read faster paced, shorter books. i think that no matter the ending, TSH will still end up being better. sitting at a 3-3.5/5 right now

this book originally cost £1.25 and has my dads’s signature in it which should tell you how fucking old it is

i’ve already read this so spoiler alert i’m giving it 4-5/5 but from the perspective of acknowledging his personal shortcomings, purely focusing on the physical and mental feats of endurance
