For a 900 page book this is moving at a great pace, I am loving it so far!

This part with Frodo and Sam is pretty consistent with the movie.
Also love a random line where Gollum says that “the big light kills us” haha he knows mood lighting is best!🤪

I’m just not understanding why THIS is the part of the story that Homer wanted to slow down to tell in long detail

I am enjoying this overall, but I hate all the names! I am not familiar enough with Greek mythology, but even for someone who is I would think this is a lot to keep track of sometimes.

The movie makes Jo the main character much more than the book so far. And tbh she’s not my fav March sister!

Really good book so far, I think I would highly reccomend it already.
Just finished a chapter on ambition and how it has culturally become a good trait when for a long long time it was not. From my American mindset I struggle a bit to understand then the line between working hard and ambition. But he brought a ton of scripture and it’s making me think…!

I am so glad that I know Ryan gosling is playing this main character. Brings it alive even more
