It’s kind of crazy how little of this book I remember. Literally the only thing I kind of remembered was the pankration and the Olympics at large.

I’m immediately obsessed with the pulpy mid century cover art of this book

I like how human a lot of these characters feel. Like Mr. Knightly throwing his nephews up in the air - something I loved as a kid.

I do wish we still used Good Morning the way people could back in the day. Not just a greeting, but a dismissal, and sometimes so aggressive!

I’m trying to read this quickly before my KU subscription ends.

It’s not very good.

I don’t know what it is but this book is a SLOG. For the amount of time I’ve spent on it I’m not very far at all. Also the random fourth wall narration breaks, while somewhat charming the first time, are awful a second time around. I’m just not enjoying this.
