As the stalker gets closer, our two MC are playing red light/green light.

The girl is being hunted, and even with that happening you want to tell the two main characters to “get a room”.

Intrigue with the most remote opportunity for romance… the formula for a great story.

“ If this isn’t flying by the seat of our pants, someone’s gonna have to explain the definition to me.”

Wow… what a thrill ride that quote came from!

This is a re-read for me, but there are so many new books that I haven’t read. I have to catch up before going to the new ones! 🧛 😊

I hope this gets better. The dialogue is a bunch of inside jokes we haven’t been given the key to.

If I guessed the killer already, I am going to be soooo disappointed. 🙁

Fast moving story is difficult to find a place to pause.

This story has an almost gothic quality and could be really excellent. There is an unfortunate excess of explanation to every segment, making something interesting seem tedious.

Westerners who join the Islamic State is the task force’s mission turning into a bigger Charlie Foxtrot than they originally planned for… and they ran into Shoshona and Aaron again. I think I saw that Brad Taylor wrote and entire series for those two.

It remains to be seen if I will finish this book. I usually like the beauty and the beast trope, but I see ugly written all over this, and it isn’t the Duke.

Wow! A contemporary romantic suspense with a real plot! The cover… well, you can imagine what that cover made me think… It was all that, all wrapped up with a plot! 😊

I have not rated it as of yet, but have happy fingers that tapped the stars. It will definitely be more than one star.

This is pretty good, and has the feel of Divine Rivals about it.

Fresh off a divorce, Scottie moves to NY city and gets a cut throat job in an office where everyone seemingly competes to see who has the most sloppy sweet marriage. Feeling cornered and on the outside, Scottie allows her best friend to connect with his brother to pose as a fake husband. Then they get roped into a marriage retreat… what could go wrong?

There is real adventure like Huck hoped for, but real fear for Jim around every bend. So far, Huck is the only white to treat Jim like a person.

So far, this book that sounds like it’s about a Cambridge graduate who joined the 1619 project, but is forced to make himself talk like a slave to avoid frightening white people. There’s too much modern black phraseology for the time period it is supposed to be set in, so if the author was going for satire, it has been accomplished. That being said, it is still trying to match the time period of Huckleberry Finn.

Nora should really stop taking her goofy brother to do serious things. He always gets into trouble.

I’m hoping this is the conclusion to this series. It has been fun and sometimes exciting without taking itself too seriously.

Imaginative as the other two, but started out slow and feels choppy.

I have the uncomfortable feeling this is a sad drama. Not my cup of tea.

This is another complex and fast moving story. I am hooked on these books.

Murder Bot just made friends with a “pet robot” that is humanoid and obviously well liked by her humans. MB is experiencing uncomfortable emotions regarding the pleasant friend and doesn’t understand them.

This book is all about different people’s memories and I found a reason for something that many people including myself noticed and remembered about that morning:
“…a unique and memorable meteorological phenomenon known as “severe clear”, cloudless skies that made an enduring impression on all who would witness what transpired in the hours ahead.”

And we’re off and running on another Karin Slaughter novel that is always guaranteed to keep us on our toes. We have an entire family full of suspects, our heroes are trapped at a mountain retreat and there was a murder on Will and Sarah’s honeymoon. You know that isn’t a spoiler… be serious! This is Karin!

This is a sweet book about an Englishman who bought a lovely and quaint cottage in a rural area and finds a kitten and hand rears it. It’s so small, he keeps it in a jug, and calls him Toby Jug. This is a comfort read if ever there was one.

A newlywed couple spend their honeymoon at the new cool resort that boasts three herd of mammoth, but they disappear overnight leaving an unsurvivable amount of blood behind. The killers left no trail that could be followed, and there’s a resort full of people. Of course they don’t want to close it down!
