This book is really good so far. I started it after reading 1984. This book is filled with primary sources from Arab sources and people who lived through the crusades. Particularly, they discuss the Frankish people and how they are backwards and invading their land. We often get a European point of view on the crusades and this book helps us understand what the people of the Middle East thought about the crusades.

So far in the book, it discusses a person named Winston and the conditions he lives in a utopia where personal freedom is restricted significantly. Winston has a rebellious spirit and does things that are not permitted by the law. I have enjoyed the book so far as it's interesting to learn more about this utopia and also the characters including Winston. I look forward to finishing it.
