This series continues to be really good.

So much of fantasy is about how magic works for me — and I just enjoy this world’s quirks. It sounds like a hellscape in so many ways and I would hate to live there.

Cosby is one of the very best. In some ways this feels like a companion to My Darkest Prayer.

I liked the mystery elements in some of his previous novels more. The big reveal is one I saw coming though - that’s the reason it’s not my favorites of his. The action was top notch.

Doing a quick re-read refresh to finish the series.

Re-reading or rather listening with so much downtime in quarantine.

Last read of the year and I’m glad I chose this. I have read Steph Cha’s Juniper Song books and enjoyed them all - but this was a new high in my opinion. Empathetic, searing and powerful.
