did I start flying through this book yesterday?? Yes I did. Is it still ass? Also YES!! I could collage a bunch of lines from 20 different romantasy books together and I’d get this book. It takes every trope from every other romantasy book I’ve ever read and plasters it together. The books is FINE. I’m SO CONFUSED why it has such high ratings. Girls it’s not original and the writing isn’t good!!!

So far this book is ass, but it has super high ratings so I hope to god it gets better

now that I’ve had a glass of wine and a martini I can make this post knowing full well my coworkers follow me on goodreads. these characters are hot hot hot but FOR THE LOVE OF GOD their dialogue during spicy scenes is so cringy. I truly want to look away from the page sometimes WHY ARE THEY TALKING SO MUCH. please Rebecca yarros don’t even make me read a sex scene ever again where Xaden says “clench” 🤮

listen Rebecca’s writing is by no means masterful or even sophisticated really but she makes me LAUGH. 3 for 3 in books that make me literally laugh out loud
