I’m not sure how I feel about Celene having the nickname of “Little Mountain.” Seems to just be a bit of house service since Gabe has “Little Lion” which I feel is appropriate.

Celene is a character I am quite fond of and “Little Mountain” just feels so odd, even for her as a child.

This book is silly, but I won’t lie my stomach is getting twisted with the anxiety of the consequences of these actions 😅

This would have been a huge hit on Lifetime back in 2012.

SHE’S ALIVE!

I honestly think about this last chapter so often. Such a calm yet horrifying interaction between two forces.

This last chapter still has one of my favorite scenes of a characters faith being tested. This world already has a very visual way of representing faith, but here someone so indoctrinated into the church gets tested and it’s not just a metaphorical scene.

I don’t know if it’s the fact that I’m re-reading this, or because I’m immersion reading this. But I’m enjoying it much more than before.

Re-reading in preparation to read the other books.

The following quote is during a part describing a persons jaw being practically dislocated and said person still being alive.

“The only reason it’s still even close to in place, isn’t torn away and tossed aside to sink, is…it’s her moisturizer regiment, isn’t it?”
