When I was seventeen I had a momentary month long lapse in judgement where I entertained the affection of a troubled young “poet” and libertarian. Long story short he was obsessed with Thompson. Bringing lots of clarity as it’s contextualizing many of his character deficits. Last time I heard from him he was roadtripping (sans motorcycle) across the US probably chasing stories that have already been written.
