kinda copy and pasting the moral quandry from the first poppy war book but it’s interesting at least

bro i kinda hate this book why do no actions have consequences why does it ignore the most interesting parts of its lore why does it feel more like content and less like a story

two big issues im having so far:

-i’m not really FEELING the era this is set in. i’m being told about it; but im not feeling it. it kinda seems like only the social values of that time are actually being portrayed; the world building of the victorian era is kinda set aside for the magical element, when i think the two cld be combined to better effect
-kuang write likable side characters challenge
