Wow ok 100 pages in and I thought I knew about The Troubles but I did not KNOW about The Troubles.

Finished “eggs” and here are a couple fun facts:
- study of eggs is called oology
- Japanese quail eggs can communicate to one another
- largest egg is an ostrich egg with volume as much as 48 chicken eggs
- the classic egg shape is called ovoid

Just finished “nests” and here are a couple facts I learned
- Gyrfalcons often reuse nests. The oldest Gyrfalcon nest is around 2,500 years old
- Edible-nest Swiftlets create nests with their saliva
- Tailorbirds sew their nests but poking holes in leaves and threading with spider silk
- Common eiders are the largest duck species in North America

Now onto “eggs”!

It’s giving Hunger Games right now and I’m into it

What’s the difference between story telling and drawing out a plot? Because I feel like I don’t know these last 150 pages and somehow there are still like 150 pages to go

So far I’m really enjoying this book - I’m interested to see how it continues on for 400 more pages though….

Getting out of this reading slump

Chapter 2 - I’m so happy to be back with these characters ☺️

I really like Hugo - that’s my update

I’m completely invested in every single person’s story. I can already tell this is going to be one of those books that changes my perspective forever.

Joana is my current favorite POV to read - her need to help everyone has her so likable
Florian I’m so invested in his mystery plans and how he hates Germany + Hitler but is a German soldier
Emilia has started to grow on me. I hate that she’s pregnant - it makes me nervous
Alfred I just really don’t like still

Alfred is annoying and boring
I’m excited to learn about Joana the most
Florian seems interesting enough
Emilia just isn’t doing it for me

Let’s see if this changes in the next 100 pages…

I have a feeling I’m going to binge the rest of this book today. I have 1 strong hunch and 1 mild hunch on who is causing all the chaos and I’m desperate to see it through.

I’m actually having a decent time at understanding all the characters - where I’m struggling is all the locations and only have one map of one city instead of a full world map.
I’m still really enjoying it!
