this book is a real struggle for my fantasy is just not my thing but it was a gift so i’m trying to keep an open mind.

however, it could just be the current chapter i’m in that talks about her becoming internet famous and the money that comes from it, but i can’t help feeling like this book is somehow a pull for money based on the same formula of tiktok fame. i don’t really think it is because she talks about it how that wasn’t why she started posting the cats but something about this section makes my paranoia perk up.

this is such an interesting book in the way it connects real human problems, the authors own life, and the lives of these cats together. very well woven together and thought provoking.

obsessed with the cats Sad Boy and Lola who are besties and lovers and can’t live life without each other. total opposites and yet they cannot exist without the other.

“I have to agree and, though I’m not a drinker myself, I’m glad to get the bottle” i’m six pages in and already hurting

it’s so interesting how the characters have such high and low opinions of themselves simultaneously. they love each other but it’s like a blinding love they’ve looked at for too long. they almost resent it without realizing. they only want to do what the other doesn’t want, they push away just to see if the other will chase, the idolize and yet judge. it’s chasing the romanticized life but it’s not there

such a big twist i had to read it twice to make sure i understood

i somehow just realized the chapters are flipping perspectives 🙄 anyway, i enjoyed the fathers chapter in this section i thought it was sweet to see how much he cared for his son even when he wasn’t good at saying it
