Started this roughly a week ago and I’m really enjoying it. Patricia Scanlan writes really enjoyable and easy to read books, which is perfect when I’m on top of my head in college.

Mannn it was pretty obvious who the killer was the whole time and it’s revealed as this massive surprise, but it was so obvious. Also there is not one straight character in this book, they took lgbtq representation to other level.

Hugo was with me when I got this book and he was making me choose quickly and he said this one looked good. BIG MISTAKE.

This book overly relies on being woke, the tagline on the cover is “Be gay. Solve crimes. Take naps.”
There is a character of every gender and non-gender, and every sexual orientation (except straight) is represented.

It’s not actually bad, but in my opinion it distracts from the story.

Forget all the other books I was trying to read, I’m going back to King.

I was going to read the shining but it’s too scary, so I’m trying this one because it sounds cool.

I think I’m going to DNF this book because it was horrifically bad. I might come back to it at some stage.

A few inconsistencies so far which are small but annoying, for example the woman whom Aisling’s sits beside at work is completely different, and in the first book she says she got 440 points in the leaving cert but 475 in this book. I feel like these are mistakes which shouldn’t have been made.

Have read this book twice before, but going to reread it so I can finish the whole series.
