I can't help but feel terrible for monster. Though his actions are not justified, they are incredibly understandable, and downright predictable based on the early life he was forced to face.

From the first chapter alone, the setting of the world reminds me of George Orwell's 1984. The governmental pyramids, the hierarchal authorities, lower level 'plebeians' having less access to information.

The beginning of volume two was difficult with the constant wallowing of Victor. As of chapter 3 onwards, it is clear why Frankenstein is a classic. You can't help but feel so bad for the monster, all he wants is love but it is an impossible task for him. You get an image of a stray dog always being beat around and shoo'ed away

Animal farm has some exact references of dystopian symptom as in 1984. A few being, the victims of government are not educated enough to be able to differentiate changes in politics or their own well being. Victims not having access to words or ability to explain their feelings or thoughts, so they are overshadowed by the controllers who do have the ability. Lies about production numbers.

I am being reminded of a quote in Will of the Many by James Islington: "If all you’re trying to do is change who’s in control, then you don’t really want to change anything."

The exposition/lore dump in the middle of this book is heavy and disruptive.
