This seems to be a really good book. I like it.

I am really enjoying this author. Bold writing, so full of life.

By Act 2 Faulkner is in rare form. ...."that one seethe one spawn one mother-womb, one furious tumescence, father-mother-one, one vast incumbent ejaculation already fissionating in one boiling moil of litter from the celestial experimental Work Bench; ....." Haha All of that just to describe the Founding and Development of the State Capitol of MS.

This is great Faukner. I suppose it helps if you know the story of Temple Drake from Sanctuary written twenty years earlier. There is so much difference in Faulkner's style! I'm also enjoying that it is written as a (screen)play. Gavin Stevens is a person of interest. I just discovered the line "The past is never dead. It's not even past", page 80 my copy. Very good so far.

20 years later and this sequel to Sanctuary is so much better. Faulkner uses the identities of a couple of characters from the previous book but there is very little link. This is also my first introduction to Gavin Stevens the Lawyer. Faulkner's style greatly improved in 20 yrs.
