hm this one is definitely not hitting as hard as the two previous ones. I'm not sure I'm vibing with Ambrose (MC) much. Like I get it he loves his sister and volunteered on her behalf BUT like ... he has a kid at home?? who now has no dad and no mom and has been uprooted from his home and Ambrose is just NOT giving me enough angst for his kid, instead he's more freaked out by being aroused by dick.

I'm being reminded once again that I don't really love office romances. its still good because its written by roe, but on a personal level its just not my thing

every now and then you find a write who has a really unique author voice, and lilo quie is definitely one of them. It took me a few pages to get into the writing style, but I put that more to the fact that I was half delirious from sleep deprivation at 1 am in the morning, than anything else.

I did not expect the opening paragraphs to be about the nesting behaviours of tarantulas. I'm scared. But also I don't want to put it down.

well don't I hate it when a book starts out amazing and then slowly gets worse and worse with every chapter 🥲 it's clear that the first few chapters have gotten way more attention than the rest of it, and it shows. although the story itself is cute, and I want to love it, the word repetitions and increasingly stilted dialogue are making it hard to enjoy it fully.

after all the crazy becca vale smut I've read recently this is the exact right amount of cute I needed in my life ❄️
