It’s impossible to not be fascinated by the Quran

Ramadan started a few days ago and i think this is a perfect opportunity to reflect and learn. We’ve learned a lot so far and we’re gonna learn a lot more here

The biggest game of my hockey career is in an hour and a half. I’ve dreamed of playing in this game for so long and it’s now about to become reality. Can’t wait.

Theres many scientific miracles in the Quran and there’s definitely some that go over peoples’ heads for example Surah Al-Qamar verse 49 says “Everything we created is precisely measured”. Everything in the universe is so precise that even if one thing was changed even by a small bit there would be no possibility of our existence. Astrology has proven this to be true.

Something i’ve noticed is that the emphasis of sincerity in believing and obeying God and his messenger is better implemented in Islam compared to other religions based on what i’ve read and my experiences with muslims and people who follow other religions. People will identify as this or that but not embody it in really any way. I’ve observed that in Islam thats much rarer to see someone like that

When i read this and see how people who mock god and disregard his revelations will face a horrible punishment and i think to myself what idiot would do that but then i realize at one point that was me. I thought i knew everything but in reality i was ignorant. I knew nothing. Now i can’t even imagine doing that or thinking that way. Crazy how thats changed in only a few years

Surah Az-Zukhruf verse 78 “We have given you the truth, but most of you hate the truth”
It’s not even funny how accurate this is. People have been fed lies for so long that they believe the lies to be true and they’re incapable of considering anything else to be true. Then when someone tells them that everything they know is false, they crash out. Some even act like they’re possessed by demons.

I’m 90% sure i’ve already said this but everything makes sense in the Quran. There’s nothing that’s illogical or anything that makes you question the validity of it. What amazes me the most is the fact that from the time the Quran was revealed to today, it’s been perfectly preserved AND countless people have memorized it word for word throughout history too. No other religion has that.

A lot of what i’ve read and learned in the Quran has reinforced my current beliefs about God. I can also see how much my beliefs have changed throughout my life and especially within the last few years. Couple things happen and you meet new people and your perspective completely changes. I went from having 0 interest in religion to this within about 2 years. I think thats really cool.

Haven’t read this in like 5 years. With our first game of the playoffs tonight theres no better time to start than now. Maybe it’s realizing that these could very well be my last games ever that’s making me want to read this again. Regardless if that’s true or not i must be at my best for this playoff run. These will be the most meaningful games i’ve ever played so we must make the most out of it.

Today we know that the calcium in our bones, the iron in our blood, and the nitrogen in our DNA were all forged in dying stars. The elements that make up us and the world around us were formed over billions of years. Not literal dust we usually think of but something far greater. God is capable of all things

Still have found nothing that promotes terrorism or any kind of extreme violence that many people claim the Quran to have. It’s genuinely sad how uneducated people are and how they are unwilling to look at anything from a perspective that is different from their own.

Surah Ar-Rum talks a little bit about the romans and how they fell. They faced a similar fate as other great civilizations of the past especially of ancient times like the Egyptian, Greeks, Mayans, and Aztecs. They all believed in many gods and were idol worshippers. Verse 42 says exactly that. Most of the greatest civilizations to ever exist suffered a horrible fate and they were idolaters

I’ve seen a few verses in Surah Al-‘Ankabut before so it was cool being able to read the whole thing. Verse 64 says “The life of this world is nothing but diversion and play, and the Home of the Hereafter is the Life, if they only knew”. I see it as the cost of the next life is this life, but the cost of this life is the next life. Which life is more important to you?

The thing i love most is that there is 0 doubt about the fact that there is only one true God and there’s no arguments with Islam that says otherwise. I think Islam is the only religion that does that. In other religions theres either multiple Gods or theres one God but people within that religion argue about who or what God actually is.

Surah An-Naml verse 88 says “And you see the mountains, and imagine them fixed, yet they pass, as the passing of the clouds-the making of God, who has perfected everything. He is fully Informed of what you do.” Back then im sure nobody knew the mountains moved. Today we know that they do. I believe that stuff like this further proved that the Quran is the word of God. No way they knew back then about that.

A common theme i’ve noticed with all the messengers is that when they tell the disbelievers about God and the truth, they immediately try to discredit them and try to even kill them sometimes. We see that a lot today when someone tells someone a truth that doesn’t align with their beliefs, they dont even think to look at it from another perspective and hear other people out.

I’ve noticed that a lot of the lessons that are in the Quran are things i’ve been taught at a young age. For example, the beginning of Surah An-Nur verse 26 says “Bad women are for bad men, and bad men are for bad women, and good women are for good men, and good men are for good women.” My parents would say stuff like that to me when i was younger and now that im older i can see why they say it.

My favorite verse of Surah Al-Mu’minun is verse 62 - “We never burden any soul beyond its capacity. And with Us is a record that tells the truth, and they will not be wronged.” I think everyone should hear that verse. It tells you that no matter how down you may be, or how difficult a challenge is, you have the strength to overcome it. You can reach the summit of any mountain that lies ahead of you.

Half way done i guess? I know a lot of the Surahs i haven’t read yet are pretty short which explains why i still have 92 left. I find ways to criticize things very easy especially when it comes to books but for the Quran it’s like impossible. There’s nothing to criticize. It’s pure perfection. I’ll continue to read 1 Surah per day and i look forward to continue to be amazed by it.

So I’ve been able to learn about the prophets more. Before reading this i knew stuff about the prophets Muhammad, Jesus, and Abraham but had very limited knowledge of others and some i didn’t even know were prophets. The more i learn about them the more interested i am. I would like to gain as much knowledge as possible about all of the prophets now. There are great lessons to be learned from all of them.

Surah 20 verse 82 “And I am Forgiving towards him who repents, believes, acts righteously, and then remains guided.”
I see stuff like this more often than i see stuff related to any kind of violence. And theres people who say the Quran is book about violence. Wild

The most confusing thing about Christianity is that they believe that Jesus is the son of God while being God at the same time. Some say he’s only one of those and others say he’s both. But the Quran makes it very clear what he is and Jesus also says to worship God and not him. Impossible to be confused with that.

I encountered someone today who was clearly a devout Christian. He talked about the typical Jesus stuff. Anyways on the first page of Surah-Al Kahf i read verses 4 and 5 which say “And to warn those who say, "God has begotten a son.”” And “They have no knowledge of this, nor did their forefathers. Grave is the word that comes out of their mouths. They say nothing but a lie”. Crazy stuff. Love it

It’s crazy how accurate this is. For example, Surah 14 verse 3 says “Those who prefer the present life to the Hereafter, and repel from the path of God, and seek to make it crooked-these are far astray.”
The farther away someone is from the lath of God, the crazier they are. Sometimes they’re just so lost and all you can think to yourself is “how is this person even real” especially now.

Surah 13 verse 29 - “Those who believe, and whose hearts find comfort in the remembrance of God. Surely, it is in the remembrance of God that hearts find comfort.”

A big takeaway so far is that if you believe, put your trust in God and follow his guidance. Allah is the best of planners.

I’ve noticed that the Quran is very consistent in saying that there is only one true God and that you are to worship only him. Every Muslim i’ve ever talked to believes in that message. I feel like no other religion has that kind of consistency. In Christianity there’s consistency in the Jesus died for your sins thing but when it comes to whether or not he is God or not some say yes but others say no.
