Dude I just love this book omg I will never stop raving about this 2 part book series. It’s just all about self discovery, self worth, forgiveness, hope, love, family dynamics, and at the center of it all growth.

“Not American enough, not Mexican enough, and not straight enough”. Damn you book

15 pages in and Dive into the Waters of the World is already mirroring the first book in the best way. Sáenz’s writing is just so beautiful—full of love, hope, and hurt.

HELL NO! Who the fuck beat Dante up. I don’t play about MY DANTE

Awe no Ophelia! Homophobia stoping many of her relatives attending her funeral is just heart crushing. The biggest nightmare a queer person can have is exactly this. Becoming a stranger the next day to the people you love the most.

Oh how i missed Dante

This book is just so cute and adorable so far. Definition of a coming of age. Plus, being a Mexican American just makes me relate to a lot of the books snarky jokes.

Okay, so far this books seems to be a coming of age between the two main character Ari and Dante. There’s dynamics of friendship, identity, father-son relationship, and just youth. Totally, enjoying so far.

I’m enjoying the book so far it’s very cool take that I haven’t read before. I love the writing style and lots of quotes I’ve underlined so far. However, I am 124 pages in and already feel a little frustrated at the repetitiveness of events going on. It feels like I want to see this life and then it shows why it wouldn’t be a good life. I hope there’s more to the book and this doesn’t carry to the end.

MATEOOO NOO FUCKKK NOOO

He died making tea for him and Rufus. He died before visiting his father one last time ☹️.
