Oh boy! There is finally a glimpse of a plot!

I have a sneaking suspicion that this book was translated from French. That may be why some of it feels a bit clunky.

Dialog is feeling a bit clunky.

The set up is cute so far!

After finishing One Golden Summer, you know I had to run out and get this one!

And I can confirm that reading the two books in the Barry’s Bay series out of order is totally fine - great even.

Oh… I see why she introduced guns earlier. Still threw me off a bit the first time!

Why am I shocked by the appearance for gun?! Did we have this technology in the first one?

My whole world building is all weird now.

I’m sorry, these types of books are just not for me. I’m doing everyone a favour (looking at that average star rating 👀) by stopping here and moving on with my life.
