“That kiss was long overdue, and there will be a lot more in the future, if you’ll have me. But just for the record, because I’m not going to risk your doubt again over three fucking words,” he tugged the back of my head, pulling my mouth back to his as he rasped, “I love you.”
😍

“Do not make me watch you die… My heart can’t survive it a fourteenth time.”
😢😢

“Skull’s Bay,” he threw out. “Tell her fire can be found at Skull’s Bay.
It was perhaps the one place Aelin would never go—down to the domain of the Pirate Lord.”

Ughh no… bad Chaol lol.

Manon met Sorrel’s eyes, then Asterin’s. And Manon gave the Thirteen her final order.
“Run.”
!!!! I went from tears running down my face to full on adrenaline.

“We have yet to see the full extent of Erawan’s darkness. And I think we have yet to see the full extent of Aelin’s fire.”

I knew it!!!!

“Galantia laughed. Malyr laughed.
What the fuck was going on here?”
lol. This book is sooooo good 😌

“Life marks us all in one way or another. The only scars truly ugly are usually the ones on the inside, anyway.”

“For every girl who can love a villain, so long as he’s handsome, hung, and good at groveling.”

He had tried to go to sleep, but now that he was alone in the dark with his thoughts, he kept thinking about the rosary that was yanked into the well. He replayed the scene over and over until he temporarily convinced himself that he hadn’t seen what he knew he had seen. There must’ve been a pocket of air that gusted up from the well and knocked the fragile beads off their hook. That’s all it was.
Sure, Jan

“What the hell is a well doing down here?”
Sir, you gone and fucked up big time lol

“The tale reimagines the Drained not as soulless, bloodthirsty, gray-skinned-beasts, but as handsome, playful huntsmen who just happened to occasionally sip some blood. Like the huntsman from the tales of Stellaria—the Deathless. Men born of both realms—who didn’t belong entirely to either one.”

Hmm…could this be a bit of foreshadowing? Maybe, maybe not 😳

“The serpent closed in, closer and closer, its lethal promise igniting something deep within Abitha’s breast: the primordial need of every creature that has ever been hurt by another—the need to bite back.
A hard grimace set on Abitha’s face. “If it is a witch they want,” she hissed, “then a witch they shall have.”
Yassss

“Get in.”
Abitha clasped the cage, tried to pull herself up, but her leg gave out and she fell back down with a cry.
The big guard grabbed her, slapping one hand atop her shoulder, jamming the other between her legs and lifting her up as though she weighed nothing, and then dropped her into the cage.”
Oh I’m big mad…demented bastards

“There, Wallace thought, the very Devil tempting me through her wiles.”

Of courseeee. Blame the woman for one’s own desires, thoughts and depravity…this mf’er better get what’s long overdue coming for him.

Wallace…what a maggot

“And because I’m a selfish prick who has to live with the fact that I cannot have you to myself, I’m going to ruin you so that any boy who comes after me will leave you deeply unsatisfied, and you’ll be left fucking your own fingers, desperate to remember the time you had your professors face between your legs.”
Ohhhhh hot damn. My poor ovaries 😆

Loving this so far…except my puppy seized an opportunity to fuck up my indie edition a little bit lol. Too bad he’s cute and I cannot be mad

“We were sealed together. In damnation.”
I wouldn’t mind…

“The blood shed must be equal,” her grandmother intoned. Her attention flicked over Manon’s shoulder. “So you, Granddaughter, will not die for this. But one of your Thirteen will.”
“Your Second, Asterin Blackbeak, shall pay the blood debt between our clans. She dies at sunrise tomorrow.”
Oh helllll no

Blake better be end game 😆

“I want to take my time with you—to learn … every inch of you. And this apartment has very, very thin walls. I don’t want to have an audience,” he added as he leaned down again, brushing his mouth over the cut at the base of her throat, “when I make you moan, Aelin.”
🥵

10 more chapters until ch. 58. IYKYK.

“Ten years ago, my parents were murdered. My father was executed on a butchering block in front of thousands. But my mother … My mother died defending Aelin Galathynius, the heir to the throne of Terrasen. She bought Aelin time to run. They followed Aelin’s tracks to the frozen river, where they said she must have fallen in and drowned.”
!!!!!

His shirt, he noticed with no small amount of male satisfaction.
It was enormous on her. It was so easy to forget how much smaller she was than him. How mortal. And how utterly unaware of the control he had to exercise every day, every hour, to keep her at arm’s length, to keep from touching her.

Aelin was laughing as she cried, and the male was just holding her, his hooded head buried in her neck. As if he were breathing her in.
“Who is that?” Nesryn asked.
Aedion smiled. “Rowan.”

Reunited and it feels so good 😊 🥰

“There hasn’t been a we for a while, Celaena—”
“It’s Aelin now,” she snapped as loudly as she dared. “Celaena Sardothien doesn’t exist anymore.”
👏🏻

“Oh, for the love of the Goddess.” Blake’s exasperated tone comes from behind me. He hooks an arm around my waist, and wrenches me against his chest. He brings his mouth to my ear as my breath catches in my throat. “I apologize for this, Aurora, darling.”

Yessss 🐺
