"Sometimes I think liars are almost as bad as thieves. They steal away trust, something that can't be returned."

« The brotherhood of the clan was a promise that its warriors were not alone. What was the point of Green Bone oaths, of all the sacrifices his family had made, of the relentless war against their enemies, if in the end, the promise couldn't even be kept for him and those he loved? »

“Having lived so long in the uncompromising sunlight of Hilo's love, the absence of his affection was lifeless and unending winter.” Wen and Hilo 😭😭

“if I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't hesitate. The clan is my blood, but for me, the Weather Man is its master." SCREAMING AAAAAAAAH WOON

“he gave Shae a wan smile and exited her office, leaving her to listen to the clatter from the nearby halls and cubicles and wonder how it was possible to be surrounded by hundreds of people and yet feel entirely alone.”

“ "I'm a rich man, a powerful man," he wheezed. "I can pay more than whatever you've been offered. Who sent you?"
