I didn’t enjoy this novel as much as her previous ones, but it was still good. I particularly liked the inclusion of The Met Gala and Diana Vreeland.

This novel had a lot of heart, including plenty of heart break.

Enjoyed story, as I did the previous 2 books, but it felt like author was trying to tell a lot of stories in this one. Appreciated how characters from other 2 novels were incorporated. Good character & world building. Good storytelling.

I liked that characters from the first book still showed up in this second one while getting to know others better. Great narration. Personally, I liked the medical angle on India. Look forward to 3rd book.

Slow to start but a good story. Great narration added to the enjoyment. Ending seemed a bit abrupt but there is another book in the series regarding these characters.

3.5 stars rounding up to 4. Good narration by Nicol Zanzarella. Happy she narrated this book along w the previous in series.
Although, overall, I enjoyed the book it dragged at times. There was a lot about socialism and communism that I hope will add to better understanding of the characters in the trilogy. At times it went on a bit too long.

4 stars to audiobook - 5 to story; 3 to narration. Narration for a Russian man was done w a Scottish accent and the woman MC sounded like a little girl. Really took away from the book.

4 stars to audiobook. Narration of audiobook was great. It’s a light hearted book that takes on a serious subject matter. I had to go into it not taking it too seriously, in regard to mental health. I think these characters will stay with me.

4 stars to audiobook, with an excellent narration by Erin Bennett. Interesting premise during WWII that I was not familiar with and would like to learn more about. The magical realism in the book was mostly confusing to me. I kept waiting for an explanation. I wish that the ending had more detail to it, but it didn’t leave me hanging. The characters were the best part of the book.

Most of the stories were entertaining,but I finished with an overall dislike of the author though I’m not certain why. I do admire how he found humor in his day-to-day job despite the stress and fatigue. Read to complete a GR challenge, Memorable Memoirs.

4.5 stars to audiobook. I think this would be better read compared to listened because of the epistolary style. Lovable characters that found joy despite trying circumstances.

I particularly enjoyed the time travel descriptions. I was happy to learn this will be a series and feel like the ending set up the next book well. It could also serve as a stand alone read.

3.5 stars to audiobook. This novel is one that I think would have been better, for me, to read rather than to listen to. I got confused a few times about who was telling their story. Also, the narration made it difficult to differentiate between the characters. It was good, but I think I would have appreciated it more if I physically read it. Reading to complete a GR challenge for Hispanic Heritage Month.

Seamless continuation into the character’s life from Brooklyn. I’m still sitting with the ending. To me, it came quickly. I would definitely read a third book.

Beautifully written. My next read will be the second book in the series.

I chose to read this now to complete the GR darling debut challenge. This book is definitely out of my usual reading. It looked intriguing and the challenge pushed me to go ahead and read it. This story would be hard to forget. I didn’t like the MC throughout most of the book. Narration enhanced the reading experience.
