i’m not enjoying this one nearly as much as annihilation so far :( i hope it becomes more interesting

this is very different from annihilation in a way i didn’t expect, but interesting!

to me this book started ok, got worse, and then kinda got better again

barbara’s subplot is my favorite by far

the ending better be worth it like the reviews say it is

i love addie so much and can relate to her in many ways. also, i’m seeing a recurring theme of the power and value of the arts. i love how this theme is woven into the story.

i love this so far!! the concept is unique and interesting, and i love the main character. schwab’s writing is also eloquent and enchanting.

the plot is becoming a little more interesting although i do have some complaints, like is it really necessary to know every little racist thought a character has every single time?

pushing through just because it’s a relatively easy read and one of the reviews said the ending made it worth it

it’s starting to lose me a bit. i’ve lost the air of mystery too early and it’s not as scary as i wanted tbh

so far so good! i really like holly as a character and the complex family dynamics. they feel very real.
