Just when I can’t love the book more there is a pit bull rescue dog! And the “let me in” when trying to get in because they’re so excited - perfection!

This does pose an issue that rubs me wrong though. The cover has one perfectly groomed, what one would assume, is a purebred toy-sized dog. Ben has three rescue dogs and he doesn’t mention grooming. Is it because the author thinks a pittie wouldn’t sell?

I’m going to give it a few more chapters, but the way this feels like work to get through each page… I misunderstood the back and these are seniors in high school, not college, despite the couple on the cover that look to be in their late 20s. Small town romances are always my favorite, but I absolutely cannot stand when the character is so stuck up and thinks everyone in the town is below them and disgusting.
