Just began Chapter 5. It begins with the life of St Thèresè, which I have been surprised to find, has captured me. What a blessed woman and an example to us all. I am eager to continue reading about her.

I'm excited to begin chapter 4, examining the Biblical world view of the Saints.

I have only begun reading this book. The author has established himself as a storyteller, not a historian, automatically bringing the credibility of his book (about history) into question.

The written language used is characteristically Australian: straightforward and blunt. However, it is therefore also opinionated, which does assure anyone that this is credible.

Nevertheless, the beginning has been interesting.

It's hard to say how much I've read since I do it chapter by chapter for my course. Very interesting, but I have to do it for school so it gets a one star from me

Interesting book, with practical advice that I've found useful. Introducing the focused and diffuse modes of thinking was something I hadn't thought of before.

It's very much a product of its time. Published in 1963, right after the conclusion of the Second Vatican council, and no doubt written throughout its course, it follows a Ukranian Cardinal who is elected pope. Thus far, it is supportive and optimistic for the reforms of the V2 council. In hindsight, I say a great deal to myself about the book, but it is well written and a worthy addition to the bookshelf.

Thus far, it has been a very enlightening read. Illuminating, in some sense, the politics surrounding me.
