So far, the book made me think about a villain's arc — how they are made, not born. What makes a character an antagonist and what defines evil, apart from subjectivity. Also, how our history and culture are some of the best places for inspiration for character archetypes.

The language is easy to understand. Although, it feels like I'm reading someone's journal.

The concept art is a visual treat. And very very inspiring.

Rusty finally addresses adolescence as he falls for Meena Kapoor. It is super easy for men to mistake filial affection for a romantic one, and for a young male, it is no simpler.

The rebellion has started and it is only now that I have realised Rusty is a 17-year old. Until now, the thoughts and actions trusted on him seemed like those of a 13-year old’s.
The narration of the beauty of the Himalayan hills and Dehra valley is beautiful.

Rusty’s seclusion from Indian culture has me hooked. His rising rebellion and growing curiosity and the physical distance between his society and the land of India are some of the themes that i find interesting.
The portrait of his female guardian is also someone very similar to one of my aunts who love to garden.

I can draw sharp comparisons with my immediate surroundings and the story.
