Not exactly the sort of thing you (or I, anyway) tear through with reckless abandon, hence the fairly slow progress. The initial "History of Semiotext(e)" conversation between Kraus and Lotringer is the worst kind of smug pomposity, and the early Eileen Myles poem is a little underwhelming, but it pretty quickly hits a good stride balancing theory-intensive pieces and more immediate, angrier content.

BATTLE OF ANGELS was later reworked into ORPHEUS DESCENDING (adapted to film as THE FUGITIVE KIND), but it's quite a distinguished work in its original incarnation-- very much the sort of steamy, Christ-, madness, and sex-haunted melodrama we of the playwright. Ideally I'd rate it 4.5 but I'll go 4 since I can't.

What new can be said re: THE GLASS MENAGERIE? Haunting, sad, shatteringly resonant. Easy 5.
