Five pages in, and I’m already inspired. Thanks, King — always a pleasure.

FUCK YEAH! Indisputably one of the best books I’ve ever read. The intro & Koestler chapter unlocked some part of my mind that I never knew existed. Guess this is why I should actually do my readings.

I’ve come to the conclusion that, when I’ve marked a book as “Currently Reading,” I have condemned it to that label—and a place on top of a bookshelf or counter—for years. Possibly even decades.

I don’t care that Stephen King takes a while to get started, or writes far too often in purple prose. He created one of the most beautiful stories I’ve ever read, about the fundamental powers that underlie all of our decisions and actions — even if we don’t recognize them.
