Really glad to be back in Port William :)
Berry always invites me in like I'm returning back home and I can't get enough.

I think the most convincing radicals are those that consistently apply what they preach. This is probably the most persuaded I've been by an American Socialist writer. Uh oh? Lol

Love Camus's writing style, simple but not too plain. Very descriptive and sets the tone for what's to come in the second half.

I was really worried this book would read like a dry, Thomistic textbook, but Sokolowski really knows how to write and has a lot of fun with the subject! Language isn’t nearly as technical as you might expect. Phenomenology, as he describes in the first chapter, is a ‘liberating’ philosophy which frees us from the egocentric predicament of Cartesianism/Modernism! So good!

Sartre and Bouvier are much more of the main characters than I initially expected. Though I initially hoped for an increased emphasis on German Phenomenologists such as Husserl and Heidegger, I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised that a book about Existentialism is primarily focused on that rather than another philosophy. Excited to read about Merleau-Ponty soon!

Solid introduction to and history of what may seem like a daunting subject!
