I wish we got more of Pember being a total nerd. To see him completely light up while explaining things to Blake at a million words per second? And Blake not knowing wtf he's talking about but nodding a long and doing his best to ask follow-up questions? It would've been perfect. We got a glimpse into this, but this needed for focus. ALSO wow, the spice is spicier in this one.

I'm worried because I feel like the angst potential for this book is much higher than the first. And that one made me cry, soooooo.

Ahhhh just like with the first book, I'm in love immediately. I never listen to audiobooks unless I'm driving, but I'm making an exception for this.

The lead up to "the moment" is so funny and ridiculous and absolutely perfect because I couldn't imagine it happening to anyone but Oliver.

I need Patrick to be strapped to a chair and dumped into the sea

That might've been one of the most embarrassingly destructive meet cutes I've ever read.

The tension between Oliver and Lucas is KILLING ME

Nevermind, changed my mind 😭 I'm going to keep reading, slowly, until I'm eventually hooked.

Not sure if it's because I watched the show first, but I'm struggling to get into this. I read a few pages and then I just want to move on to something else. Maybe I'll put a pause on this and come back later.

This is soooooo goooooood

I knew in the first minute I was going to love this.

Wow, the narration during that scene sure was something. Jason June, come get your flowers.

Are they going to try for another fishy baby???? A little girl??? Please, that would be so cute!

I love this cute fishy family so much! Especially Ye Qinghuan as their annoying uncle 🩷

Actually, nevermind. I thought there were only 4 books, not 5, so I'm going to drop this series here. The subpar writing I'll let side because it could just be the translation, but these books suffer from too many one-dimensional characters, poor pacing, and a fast burn romance that is a little cute but mostly confusing and a bit unhealthy.

I'm speed reading at this point because I'm invested just enough to want to finish these books, but not enough to spend days doing so.

Really loving this so far!! The narration is great, loving the trans rep, and I'm a sucker for 2nd chance romances.

“No matter if Sibao turns into a koi or not, Daddy loves you!” Before, whenever Li Yu heard people say things like this, it would make him shudder, but now he said it to his fish baby without any hesitation, and Sibao quickly perked up with his father’s encouragement.

Sibao, you're so precious!

Li Yu incubating his cute little fish eggs 🥹 omggggg

The progression of their relationship is a little confusing but that's ok, they're cute

Really hoping this is leading to a Harvest Moon/Stardew Valley-esque arc!

Li Zhifeng is so loyal to You Miao 🥰

Yeah, so, I'm pretty tempted to drop this down a star just because of that scene.

I know there's way more important stuff going on, but I need y'all to know I love Tripp. That's my dopey, trust fund, weekends on daddy's yacht, frat boy son. Leigh Barrugo, nothing better happen to him.

I don't ever want this book to end. As a matter of fact, I want at least 3 more books in this universe.

1.) amazing stunning perfect wonderful wow. 2.) are there vibes between dawes and tripp or am I "tripp-ing" haha. 3.) alex, you're insane and I love you. 4.) I would absolutely let myself get turned into a bee for fun

Oh my god, the Alex and Darlington scenes are hitting like crack
