It’s really good so far. I enjoy hearing more about our President’s backstory and learning about the way he thinks and why. He has such a level of empathy because of all he’s been through. Looking forward to the rest. I also like that he reads it himself.

I’m listening to her tell her story on Audible and she’s very matter of fact, “this is the way it was, love it or leave it”. I’m in the middle of when she seduces Jim Morrison. The last story was of her first peyote trip. This helps you understand what it’s like to be in the shoes of a 60’s rock and roll pioneer in a very unique time in our nation’s history!

Interesting. A bit repetitive but interesting to hear Diana’s story paralleled to her son Harry’s. This is her tell-all book comprised of smuggled tapes to biographer Andrew Morton. There’s a direct through line between Diana’s story and Harry’s. To understand his, I think it’s important to know hers first.

…and Prince, now King Charles is a piece of work. Rude, entitled and he used her.

Listening to this on Audible. It’s alright. A little long and drawn out in places, but neat to hear his POV on things from his perspective. It’s interesting as he mentions moments in his life, I flash back to a photo I’ve seen in the news. You realize how very little information you get on someone from news articles. I almost abandoned it early on but I’m starting to get into it and want to see it through.

It’s neat reading about artists considered classic in the time they were working. However this is in the late 70’s when they slowed down a bit and had more time to be reflective.

I hope to learn a lot from this book. It was recommended by a presenter at the CAEA Art Ed conference. Seeking to heal the trauma of pandemic teaching, how the pandemic impacted my family and I, and overall it’s been a rough last 4 years to be an American. We didn’t know how traumatized we were by #45 until he went away and we could gain a sense of normal again.
