Currently reading the only physical book I purchased in England! (A difficult feat) most likely my last book of the year 🫡

What’s up with Irish authors not using quotation marks…??

I was not expecting this book to chastise the Biden administration and I am loving that insight! Also brooooo it just makes me SAD to read this because me cryingggg when I cast my vote for Harris still replays in my head SO SAD!!! WHAT WE COULD HAVE HAD!!!! (Not perfection but yikes need I say more???)

Sometimes when I read this book it feels like I’m not reading and instead just reviewing the plot in my head because I know it so well lol

Is Frances supposed to be an unlikable narrator because I don’t like her one bit (I don’t like any of the characters lol but I’ll speak more in my final review ofc)

idk about this whole no quotation marks thing but …. I do like the story and will watch the TV show after

I know I just said I was gonna take a break from Emily Henry books but I’ve heard this one is a little different and I want to try it out

Thoughts so far:

- why the heck is this book called beach read
- just like Book Lovers, I am much more interested in the secondary relationship (between January & her dad, and in book lovers it was the main girl & her sister) than I am in the love story

Naming the main character January is your first strike, Emily Henry

Got this little comic book at the used bookstore (it’s from 1967?!?) so gotta read it cuz I love the peanuts so much
