The story has become grittier again. Which was a weird turn to come up on, and we're in 1939. It feels like book 1 is coming full circle back to the beginning.
There's also a character from the show who I'm yet to encounter. Flipping ahead in the pages I'm assuming she'll appear in one of the other books

It's so good. There were moments I forgot about that happened in the show. It's fascinating seeing what the show changed or expanded upon.

A thing I noticed in both here and the show - as soon as Morpheus gets his items back, the visuals of the story become brighter; Even with the story having some dark plot lines - locking kids in basements, murder, etc

After having watched S1 of Netflix's show last year, as well as carrying around this in its shrink wrap for a year, it was so nice to open this to begin reading & seeing all of the amazing art.

It took me a moment to feel I was reading & not forcing myself, but that's more a personal issue. Though I did stumble to follow the flow here & there
I was not ready for the DC cameos coming from my knowledge of the show.

Wish Pax attacked the dad, or the dad saw and recognized him when he came out of the tent. Glad he didn't though

Was highly confused a few months ago as I kept reading. Only to realize this was a sequel. Finally have book one. Will read soon

Took a turn I didn't expect, the boy injuring himself & having to halt his journey. Very curious w/ how he'll get to Pax.
Interested in Pax's story with the other foxes, his hunt for food, & how far he's willing to stray from where his boy left him. Will he survive? What state will he be found in?

Past / present? feels more current. At first it felt more like WWII, but it wasn't lining up.
Will she get him to Pax?

Intriguing. Some points seem rushed or out of placed but I’m still captivated

Chapter 5 picked the pace up to a better speed! I’m so much more invested! It’s cool to see April and Miranda trying to figure out the mysteries at hand. Then seeing April making a decision that will affect her life moving forward was an interesting look into her.

Favorite quote: “It’s weird looking back on the little insignificant moments that completely change your life and maybe all of human history.”

Another thing, I’m confused on how I feel about April. She’s interesting - a struggling artist, at a job she hates, finds a mysterious sculpture that seeming appeared out of nowhere, across the world.
I think maybe where my confusion lies is her seeming different, because, as she has stated repeatedly- power. But, the arrogance? Lack of care? Or just how she presents these traits? It’s weird. Idk how I feel

The pace has definitely changed, though it feels like everything is moving really fast, but it makes sense that it would? Not the video blowing up within ~12 hours of it being posted on a somewhat unknown channel. But hey, weirder things have happened. This book is written by a person who knows a lot about Youtube, I wonder how accurate Hank Green made the money April and Andy are earning in video revenue?

Chapter 1 was a bit slow, but picked up with the discovery of the sculpture.

Chapter 2, was interesting with the way it started with the edited video, then pulling us back to the filming of the video, when the sculpture was garnering attention from Andy and April.
