Salem is on page 58 of 352 of Applied Ethics: An Impartial Introduction
This books is really great so far. It’s opening about how to think like a philosopher is great for getting people to analyzing and think through arguments which in todays debate me culture is very much needed.

Another amazing aspect of this book is that it’s impartial as in its aim is introduce you to the academic debate around each issue not convince you of one particular side. 5/5 so far.

“God accommodated his message to his people’s limited knowledge so that they could focus on the main points: The world is not filled with many gods, but is ruled by one sovereign God. Creation is good and humans are very good, bearing Gods image … The Bible is much more concerned with the who and why of creation.”

“In my Bible College education, science was primarily of interest as ammunition in a culture war. I don’t mean to suggest there wasn’t genuine interest or curiosity in features of Gods creation and the intricacies of the physical world … Science was not entertained as a vocation or calling for Christians. Instead, science was something we could use— and use as a weapon.”

The quote from as so relatable.
