Wow. This book has been recommended in my online witchcraft groups and I can see why. I’ve only read the intro and first chapter and I can already tell he knows his stuff. I am a professional psychic and I’m impressed with the way Auryn explains and defines things. I find my mind very engaged while reading thus far.

I have mixed feelings so far. It does challenge readers to be more thoughtful about their practice. It also advises new witches to ask questions, to think critically about what they read and watch, which is important. There are times where it can feel a tad preachy. I think millenials and Gen Z witches will likely enjoy the book more, but it might not sit as well with older witches.

I love this book! It goes into various exercises for focusing your intention and raising energy as well as basic tea magick,. The final chapters also cover making a protection poppet, and creating energy constructs.

Its a terrific book for those who are interested in energy work and how it applies to magic and for those who need a refresher on raising energy.

This book offers prayers, rituals, and history of the Goddess Hekate. It discusses her well-known attributes and delves into their meaning, and how to call upon the Goddess to illuminate our own lives or to light a path for others.

I am enjoying it so far.

This book is very useful for raising energy and using energy work in magic. It gives several methods for drawing in energy and ways you can transfer energy into an object, personal shielding, or into a spell.

Once you get to the Book of Shadows, the tone of the book changes. The BOS half of the book seems more preachy and firm than the first half, which has a more more open, welcoming tone and spirit. So if you do not believe in the “Law of Three” or if you are not a traditional Wiccan following a strict “harm to none” practice, you will have some issues with the second half.

I like it so far! I thought I might not enjoy it since it’s Wicca-focused, but I actually like it a lot. Cunningham’s view of Wicca is more fluid than I expected and it’s a good refresher of witchcraft basics.

I enjoyed Cunningham’s herbalism books and found a used copy of this one. I’m glad I picked it up.
