AMAZING second book to a great series. It's funny, it's heartfelt, it has a half-naked man and his cat fighting unimaginable horrors. I'm reading the series as the hardcover copies are released and added to my library, and I am absolutely chomping at the bit for them to give me the next one!! I've been recommending this series to anyone who will listen to me.

AMAZING book. The relationship between Jay and his dad is complex and deeply explored during his time in the whale. This book had me feeling so many different emotions but most of all was terror from how big this whale has to be!!

He has to be suffering nitrogen narcosis or something but the conversation with the whale is both the weirdest and most heart wrenching thing I've ever read.

Holy crap has this unlocked a new fear! Mit seems like a real pos and the parallels between him and the whale through Jay's eyes are vivid and descriptive.

Really great book! Very heavy stuff, did have to set down when I got too teary eyed.

When I first checked this out I immediately ran through the first 100 or so pages, then I got distracted with another book and didn't give this one the attention it deserved. By the time I came back to it the story had slowed and I wasn't invested enough anymore to finish. Hoping to come back to it again as I did like the premise and Lark is an interesting character.
