I’m enjoying this reread a lot more than I thought I would. High school English teachers make this book so boringgggggg.

This is going to be humbling lol. Starting off strong with St. Teresa of Avila saying that she knows nothing about this topic and then proceeds to have mic drop after mic drop.

I’m going to in person lectures of the book and trying to follow along but I can definitely see myself getting sucked in and finishing the book well before the lecture series ends.

Author does an incredible job showing the emotions of longing and desire but doesn’t seem to be able to portray sadness and anger. When the characters argue just seems like emotionless yelling matches. Still a good book and I’m enjoying it so far.

Murderbot has been a vibe so far 😂

“Yes, talk to murderbot about its feelings…I’d rather climb back into Hostile One’s mouth”

12/10 tho.

Yeah, that’s right, I’m dabbling in some poetry.

“THE LILY
The modest Rose puts forth a thorn,
The humble sheep a threat’ning horn:
While the Lily white shall in love delight,
Nor a thorn nor a threat stain her beauty bright.”

This book has so much detail and so many primary sources: letters, poems, and notes. Just to give you an idea on the amount of detail, it gives a clear description on what he often ate during his time at Harvard.
