Marty’s Unsalted Hash RV life reminds me of Travis McGee - was his boat called the Busted Flush? It’s been a while. I’m enjoying this although worried about the looming danger.

Taking my time and enjoying the reminiscences. I’ve gotten to his Royal Shakespeare Company days.

The pace is picking up. I'm ready to be done with this book; I've spent too long in this world and I want out. I saw another reviewer complain about the slow middle with all the language rabbit holes, but that's the part I liked the most. Now it's all high stakes and anxiety, which makes me want to set it down, which just prolongs it.

Bizarre, a bit of a slow start but I'm really warming up to the eccentric hit men Candy and Karl.

I'm still in the prologue, wondering if I'm listening to a different book than the reviews describe.

So much good about this book but the love/hate at first sight romance is driving me crazy and it's starting to look like that might turn out to be dominate the whole thing.

Ugh, the 99 cent Kindle version hasn't cleaned up the 1920s-era racist language as the audiobook has. Wincing & wishing I could follow complex plot on audio better than I can.

So hard to put this down. I just want to read.

Why has it taken me so long to get around to reading this? I love Connie Willis & have read her other Oxford time travel books and loved them. Wishing for a translation from the 1320 language although not understanding brings me closer to Kivrin’s experience.

Ugh. Fast & entertaining but I'm really hating Becky in this one. Can't remember if she was this horrible in the first book.

This is my read-like-a-writer project book for 2022. I'm reading it side-by-side with A Year of War and Peace, which is helpful. Current news makes it feel like I've chosen a timely book to read.

Uh oh, there goes everything I was planning to do today.

I'm up to the era when I was taking home ec. For the first time I'm happy I took the classes in a Utah small town, because it meant I missed out on the worst features of that era's home ec. I assume the Mormon seminary across the street gave girls their marriage indoctrination, but it wasn't inflicted on me. Not directly, anyway.

Fascinating & very readable. Making me think differently about those years of home ec I was required to take in the 60s.

Drawn in, intrigued. I’d have an easier time swallowing the psychotherapy depiction if it was set in the past. Narrator seems unreliable from page 1; waiting to see where it goes.

Wahoo, preorder showed up on my kindle! Not sure yet which King subgenre it fits in. Will there be supernatural goings on? (Rubs hands gleefully)
