When even your sword doesn't remember who you are....

Yay - Christmas came a little bit early!!

I'd stick my neck out and say that's 30 minutes of some of Herron's best dialogue to me. First Lamb to Diana and then Lamb and Catherine.

Parts are exceptionally good - others maybe less so

Some parts of the writing here are just so good

I really like the idea of a book missing (and never published) from the OBs collection...

A while since I read the last book and simply the part "introducing" the building is so good 😀 - it's something you miss in the TV series. Not a fan of the narrator so far.

Entertaining however so far I probably prefer the Greatcoats series. Good narrator

Fascinating read so far. I didn't realise how interesting wolves are nor about the interactions between humans and wolves.

The interaction between Ree and Jivani lifts this well past a quite light action read - really rather enjoying it 😀

A couple more, 1 I'd heard as a podcast and is good. The other, Paint by Numbers, was completely new to me and entertainingly "strange"!!

Two further stories that have been podcasts - both decent with my favourite def being the Owl and the Pussycat... 😂

Love and death in a time of planned engineering works is one of my favourite CK stories!! I read it some time ago in a previous short story book and also heard it on a podcast (my preferred version). It's a story that shows how talented the author actually is for me

"Do the research" is a good story too - a "take" on conspiracy theory stuff and very Stranger Times 😀 (was on a podcast tho)

Actually listening to the audiobook over time (not on here currently)
First one - The Raven is chillingly entertaining.
Worth noting that a number (?most) of these have either been on podcasts or the earlier short story one.

And then... How many talking Elder blades can you get in one story!! OK, this author is definitely back on form! Indeed maybe in better form.

Frankly the first 10% was a bit mundane/uninspiring which surprised me. However it really gets going after that (and there's a talking sword called Nigel 😂)!!

Making me laugh and cry in the same chapter...

Winchester is a remarkable writer to me. He can take things we take for granted or know little about and turn them into broad ranging tales. The preface in this sets the framework so well.
