When I saw that my favorite contemporary author, Amor Towles, had written an introduction to this edition of The Sun Also Rises, I couldn’t help myself. I already own one edition but I had to have this one. I’ve only read through the introduction and it’s seduced me to read the novel again. There is something about Mr. Hemingway’s writing that always grounds me. It brings me home, it makes me be present.

Well my reading habits have changed into something I don’t recognize. Sometimes I wonder if it is just the material I am reading.

I keep waiting for a plot with this one but it hasn’t shown itself. Each chapter is about 3 men whose only goal each day is to buy a gallon of wine and drink it all. Sometimes they steal it.

So far… Mrs. Dalloway meets Hemingway and they have a child…
