It’s so telling that Sarah is a lawyer but we don’t get to see any bit of actual court proceedings except for opening and closing statements. Why make Sarah a lawyer in the first place? This is very clearly more of a mystery novel than anything, so why can’t Sarah be a big shot detective? It would make more sense than a lawyer who we never see lawyering. You could even give Stevens or Bob the role as lawyer
