Starting this book to cope with current world problems was probably one of the worst ideas I have ever had 😭

If the whole book is written like this, I’d love to be blind aswell

I already find Haller really relatable. I love how openly he shares what he enjoys. It feels like that kind of openness has been lost these days, and conversations like that only happen by chance. Im not even sure why.

I just love the way Kundera philosophizes right inside the narrative, then dives straight back into the plot as if nothing happened.

Lines like, “Here I want to return to a thought Tomas had a few days later” are so fking cool and make everything feel so real, like you are actually observing a real person

I love how the book switches between Tomas and Teresas perspectives. Reading about their relationship in this detached, almost analytical way has been really enjoyable so far.
