I read half of the first chapter of this years ago and have been using the advice from it ever since so I thought I should probably see what the rest of it is about

Kinda think this book is inspiring a bit of a turning point in my personal relationship with literature or maybe I’m just manic idk

love everything about this book except the translator who i think should be shot

I don‘t know when exactly this book turned into a masterpiece but at some point within the last hundred pages I have changed

you can tell the author is a poet by how much meaning he tries to impose on every statement. doesn’t necessarily detract from the fact that this is a beautifully written and incredibly interesting narrative but it takes me out a little bit sometimes

i appreciate how every little detail is expanded into these massive insights about the characters. i love when i can tell a book was written by a writer

the way isabel‘s infatuation with eva is slowly revealed through the way her eyes linger on certain features or the habits she picks up on…. so beautiful. and the pears oh my god the pears

officially giving up on finding one hundred years of solitude….

i think a lot of this is going over my head but i really enjoy the prose and i‘ve been listening to a ton of irish history podcasts because of it

i lost this book and i‘ve been looking everywhere and i don‘t know what to do
