If these characters weren’t so lovable and funny, this book would be a total DNF.

Oh. My. God. It’s the slowest possible burn ever 🙄 if this was my first Elliott Rose book, I’d quit. But I know this author and I know the spice is worth it, but come on, just ride him already!!!

FINALLY got a first kiss…

Ohhhhhhh myyyyyyyy godddddddd this book is dragging. Seriously, why am I this far into the story and they’re not even flirting yet?? This book has a kink list and trigger warnings, but I’m starting to think they’re invisible.

What even is this book?!? Why do I feel so confused by the timeline??

Ok the “pure innocent catholic girl” bit for the FMC is getting a little old at this point 🙄 case in point: “And I lift in my hands for the first time to touch him. I could only touch him because my eyes were closed. That way I didn’t have to watch myself sin”.

Brb, I’m gonna go gag a bit and remind myself that I’m incapable of leaving a book on DNF.

Hannah annoys me, as the FMC I’m suppose to want to root for her, I want her to win and get the guy. Currently tho, I want her to walk into traffic 🙄 I hope she develops more, or else I’m out.

I’m about to DNF this book because the author has a FIVE YEAR OLD child speaking like this, “You’s can stop dat, we’s going Poppy. I’s like him. You’s do to, I’s sees the way ya smile at him”.

🙄 it’s making my skin crawl.

Ok, it’s picking up now…if you can make it through the first 40% of this book, you get rewarded for it-haha.

How am I not even 40% into this book yet?? It’s dragging, like painfully and slowly killing me.

There’s just something special about reading an ax killer at summer camp book during the summer…I’m looking forward to this story…

Who likes this series?? Why am I reading it?? At this point, it’s almost like watching a train wreck. I need to see the damage in the end. This is not a dom/sub relationship, he’s just an asshole. Also this is NOT, in no way, shape or form, a Hades/Persephone retelling-absolutely NOT!!!

So, I checked out a few reviews before I started this series to see if it was worth it-and almost all of them said it was slow to start, but it picks up and gets really good. And damn I agree, the beginning of this book was painful. I’m really hoping it’s gonna start to get good soon, because I’m physically incapable of DNF a book lol.

Yeah, I’m done with this series after this book. I’m incapable of not finishing a book, so I’ll suffer through this, but it’s somehow actually worse than the one before this, and I gave that 3/5 stars.

Why am I still reading this?? It’s almost like watching a train crash happening in slow motion, and I just need to see how it’ll end. LOL

Steph is annoying. Considering she’s the central female in this book, I truly hope she gets better as the book progresses.

The main chick’s bff is annoying and I kinda already hate her. I wouldn’t mind if this was the book trope where the bestie passes away so the main character can learn a lesson of some sort lol.

Ok, it got good, I’m done complaining.

I hate the slow burn…

This book is a little hard to get into. A monarchy in a fictional country, set in 1910, but weirdly it feels more like the 1700’s. It better get a little spicy soon before I get too bored of it.
