Wow okay Kristin Hannah that one hurt like a bitch

At this point I’m still torn whether this is fully mystery or a mystery with magical elements. I could easily figure this out by either 1-read the full description or 2-just look up the genre but where the fun in that

I think I know where this is going

The murdered is making sharks look bad and I don’t like it

Two killers. There’s two killers in this book but I’m honestly confused who the second one is

Have you ever watched a movie and screamed at the characters “WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU IDIOT” yeah well that’s how this book is currently make me feel.

This entire thing is making me uneasy in a way I can’t describe. Her being betrayed by all her friends and making bad choices after bad choice. I’m literally quezy

I’m loving this so far! How is it the perfect mix of spooky with romance. I’m reading at work and keep smiling like a dummy
Note - this is set in a real setting so if you don’t like pop culture things popping up in your books be warned

It has a lot of references to some different pop culture stuff but not in a way that’s annoying-less popular things like doctor who. The mystery is really getting interesting and at this point I don’t have any answers as to who’s terrorizing the kids

I’m listening to the audio book and I am LOVING the accents! Their Scottish but not so thick you can’t understand them

So far this seems to be mostly world building and learning how knowledgeable the main character is. I do like it tho the world building is mostly just learning about the FMC and her abilities working with poisons and some minor learning about the gods in the universe

The tension is amazing! This is so freaking cute and I’m loving the extra knowledge of the magic system!

I love that this is about a character mentioned in the first book but is a complete different story in a different setting!

OH she has kissed two people in front of the MMC now and hasn’t kissed him yet HA! The tension is tensioning and his whole family seems to care about her for some reason that I don’t know yet but I’m loving it

OH MY GOD part one was GOOD! I think it’s a good mix of world building and character building so far and I’m really enjoying it

Our FMC’s dad PISSES ME OFF. He made her look less to make her brother look stronger and better but not only did he make her look less, he had her giving him her school papers and helping with his magic! God he’s awful

So far the mmc has called her dove and smelly human in the same sentence LMAO honestly already kinda like him. Little concerned about insta love but honestly so far I like it

I’m honestly a little confused where this book is headed at this point. It’s my first Grady Hendricks books and so I didn’t go in with any expectations of their writing but so far the story seems good just not very horror like yet
