Cobble Hill
I randomly picked this up at the library, and I am hoping it is better than its Goodreads number. I liked the first chapter so far and the cover is adorable, so off to a good start. Sometimes bad expectations leads to a better reading experience anyway. Choosing to the hopeful.

What If We Taught the Way Children Learn?: More Straight Talk About Bettering Education and Children′s Lives
Powerful quote for educators: "I've been waiting for the 'revolution' in education, as regards an understanding that children need to move. That children do not exist only from the neck up." (p. 61, Rae Pica)

Because Internet: Understanding the New Rules of Language
Made it to p. 85...I'm just not interested in it. I had hoped for a funny look at language today, but this book is actually really serious and academic. I'm sure others will love it, but it is not for me.

The Federalist Papers
Apparently I want the lyrics to Hamilton stuck in my head the entire year with this reading choice (it has been on my Nook since I first got it and downloaded a billion of free ebook classics). Let's see if my love of the musical can help me finish this collection of essays by the end of 2020. Wish me luck!

The Bad-Ass Librarians of Timbuktu and Their Race to Save the World’s Most Precious Manuscripts
I am going to give this book a chance, but so far it is more of a Homer book than a Pattie book. No Bad-Assness yet, just background history. It could just be my mood for cheesy Christmas stories too. But, I am not giving up yet!

The Vanishings: Four Kids Face Earth's Last Days Together (Left Behind: The Kids, #1)
I have had this on my desk at work for a couple years now, and I finally put the bookmark in today. It is somewhat popular in my library, but I have a feeling I will be throwing it across the room as I attempt to read it. We shall soon see!

Written in My Own Heart's Blood (Outlander, #8)
Just watched the first episode of Outlander (playing for free on Starz.com) and it was great. Stayed up until 1am reading this book and had to force myself to go to bed instead of finishing it. :)

The Outlandish Companion
Favorite thing learned so far...the French Proverb "Ne Petez plus haut que votre cul" which means "Don't fart above your arsehole." Oh, I also loved that in 1999 she thought America Online was here to stay. :)

Alcatraz Versus the Evil Librarians (Alcatraz, #1)
Love how this book starts..."So, there I was, tied to an altar made from outdated encyclopedias, about to get sacrificed to the dark powers by a cult of evil Librarians." I never thought I would be a part of a cult! :)

I remember loving this book when it was assigned to me in 7th grade by my English teacher who told us all not to get any ideas from it! :) Hope it is as good as I remember.

Love this poem by Ogden Nash quoted in book called "A Word to Husbands" To keep you're marriage brimming, With love in the loving cup, Whenever you're wrong, admit it; Whenever you're right, shut up.
