So so incredible — only halfway through, but this is coming to be one of the best diaspora stories I've read in a long time :') Heavy topics, so have been reading slowly, but 100% living up to everything I thought it would be!

New book! I love the unique modes of storytelling, incorporating the truest form on Indigenous teachings that can be conveyed in a book.

Saving this quote for myself: “Stone teaches us that we should be strong no matter what tries to crack us or wear us down, keeping an unbreakable core through your culture and your beliefs (…) you can have life and creation, but it will all crumble without a solid base.”

All the Flavors was a beautiful read — the integration of Chinese folklore made the entire thing so fun ! Three stories left :D

Can really see how Mono no Aware won a Hugo, that story was so beautiful and thoughtful in its composition, and I really appreciated the Go imagery as a throughline! Over halfway!!
