Got this as a Book Bub bargain awhile back. Last week a friend on Facebook mentioned how much she enjoyed it, so I moved it up in my stack of BTBR. So far it's very enjoyable!

Nook version - Chapter 12. The first chapter was very dark and creepy, but the protagonist is introduced in the subsequent chapter. Gotta love a character who, at a victims funeral, thinks "I was having a mild and sweaty heatstroke in my black blazer but resisted the urge to fan myself with my Glock automatic." So far I love the character of Claire Morgan and the writing of Linda Ladd!

True confession: I was sucked in by the title and cover art. I love a good novel and if it has an equestrian setting then so much the better. I guess that explains why I find it so jarring that the author is so lacking in basic working knowledge of his setting. Research, people! There IS a difference between a halter and a bridle.
